We give grants to small businesses.
Saffron Grants is a grant program run by Saffron Grants Foundation, Inc.. We fund independent U.S. businesses that are ready for their next step.
Why we do this
Small businesses often can’t get the money they need to grow.
Banks want years of history. Investors want fast growth. A lot of good businesses fit neither. Grants can fill that gap, so we keep ours simple to apply for and fair to win.
We publish our rules and our scoring guide, we never charge fees, and everyone who applies gets an answer.
Why the name?
Saffron is the world’s most expensive spice. Every thread is picked by hand from a small purple flower. It takes patience and hard work to grow, which is a lot like running a small business.

No fees, ever
Applying is free. Nobody should have to pay for a shot at funding, and winners never pay to get their grant.
Rules in the open
We publish our rules, our dates and our scoring guide. After each cycle we share how many grants we gave.
Fair scoring
Reviewers score on their own, declare conflicts of interest and all use the same guide.
An answer for everyone
Everyone who applies hears back, and finalists get to tell their story in person.
